FAQ

Remodeling contractors manage the entire remodeling process. They develop the scope of work, purchase materials, and hire specialized professionals such as plumbers, electricians, painters, and tile specialists. They also may perform the remodeling themselves or oversee and manage the work, including tasks such as demolition, wall and ceiling construction and finishing, plumbing, electrical wiring, flooring, and more.

In addition, they coordinate with the client on the scope of work, cost estimates, and timeline, and manage any necessary changes during the project. Once the work is complete, they review the project, correct any mistakes, and finalize all remaining details.

In conclusion, remodeling contractors handle all aspects of the project, resolving issues and ensuring the client is satisfied with a space that’s both functional and beautifully finished.

Construction involves creating something new or making major changes to an existing structure.

Examples include:

  • Building a new house, office, or storage unit
  • Adding new walls, a foundation, or a ceiling
  • Installing plumbing, electrical systems, or HVAC
  • Creating completely new spaces or buildings

Remodeling is about updating or improving existing spaces.

This can include:

  • Replacing tile, wallpaper, or paint
  • Moving or modifying walls
  • Updating windows, doors, plumbing, or wiring
  • Repairing wear and tear

Key Differences

  • Construction = creating something new
  • Remodeling = renewing or restoring what already exists

Sometimes, the line between the two is blurred. For example, a full overhaul that includes rebuilding parts of a home may look like construction. However, legally, it’s still remodeling if the structure remains the same and isn’t completely replaced.

Project timelines vary based on complexity and the scope of work involved. We determine and finalize the schedule in close consultation with each client.

We always make sure to clean up thoroughly after completing the job.

We prefer that clients select and purchase their own finishing materials – such as tiles, flooring, bathroom fixtures, and lighting – so they have full control over design, color, and budget. At the same time, if needed, we’re happy to recommend trusted brands and stores.

As for consumable and construction – specific materials like wood fillers, adhesives, primers, and small hardware, we handle those purchases ourselves to ensure the best quality and results. All receipts for these items are provided to the client.

Materials are not included in the labor cost. We believe in a transparent approach – purchasing materials as needed without adding hidden fees. This way, you know exactly what you’re paying for and have full control over the selection and cost of all materials.

Our company holds all the necessary licenses, insurance, and registrations required to operate legally in the state of California. Please feel free to contact us – we’ll be happy to provide all documentation upon request.

We serve all of Greater San Diego County – including San Diego, La Jolla, Chula Vista, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Escondido, Coronado, Del Mar, El Cajon, Encinitas, Imperial Beach, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City, Poway, San Marcos, Santee, Solana Beach, Ramona, and Vista – along with surrounding unincorporated communities.

The ability to stay in your home during a remodeling project depends on the type and scope of the work. For smaller projects – such as painting, bathroom or kitchen remodeling, or flooring installation – clients can usually remain at home, with limited access to certain areas as needed. However, for large-scale renovations involving major demolition, excessive dust, or the temporary shutdown of electricity or water, it may be necessary to vacate the home or stay in a designated area for safety and efficiency.

We always aim to plan the work in a way that allows you to stay in your home whenever it is safe and practical. During the planning stage, we will discuss this in detail so you’ll know which areas will be affected, and you can make arrangements accordingly.
